Deleting your account

How to delete your Røky account, what is erased, what stays on the map without your name, and why none of it can be undone.

Last updated 2026-10-11

How to delete it

Open Røky, go to Profile, choose Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. It takes effect immediately and you do not need to contact us. If you cannot open the app, use the request form at the foot of this page and we will do it for you.

What is deleted

Everything that identifies you, and your ability to reach the account:

  • Your sign-in is disabled and every session is ended. You cannot log in again, on any device.
  • Your email address, name, profile photo, date of birth, gender, height, weight and weight history are erased.
  • Your public profile is removed, so you disappear from climber search, from the leaderboard, and from every profile screen.
  • Notifications stop and your devices are unregistered.

Your training sessions, assessment results and ascent log are not personal data once your name and email are gone, so they remain attached to a record that identifies nobody. Nobody can reach them, including you.

What stays, without your name

Røky is a community map, and other climbers rely on what you added to it. Removing it would take real information about real places out of a shared guidebook, so it stays — and your name comes off it:

  • The gyms, crags, zones and routes you submitted stay published.
  • Your reviews, ascents and comments stay published.
  • Your name and photo are removed from all of it. It appears as an anonymous climber.

One exception, and it is deliberate: where you are credited with a first ascent, the credited name stays on the route. A first ascent is guidebook history, it is often recorded by whoever created the route rather than by the climber, and rewriting it would corrupt the record rather than protect anyone. The link between that credit and your account is removed.

This cannot be undone

There is no recovery, no grace period and no reactivation. Once the account is deleted we cannot restore it, we cannot tell you what it contained, and we cannot reconnect you to the content you published — the link between you and it no longer exists anywhere. If you are not certain, do not confirm.

Your other rights

Before deleting, you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or restrict or object to how we use it. Write to info@jjsebastianfuertes.com. After deletion there is nothing left to request. The Privacy Policy sets out these rights in full, along with who to complain to if you think we have handled your data badly.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot open the app — a lost device, a sign-in that no longer works — ask here instead. Send the address your account uses. We confirm it by email first, then delete the account by hand and write to you when it is done. Nothing is deleted until you click the link we send.

The address your Røky account uses. The confirmation link goes there and nowhere else.
